About Curtiss LaCross

Hi, I’m Curtiss LaCross. Growing up as a farm boy in Northern Michigan, my parents taught me and my brothers the value of hard work, the bonds of community, and the importance of self-reliance. When I wasn’t working on the farm, I spent my days playing baseball in the summer and hockey on frozen ponds in the winter. I’m still that same active kid at heart, always ready for a pickup game. These days, I’m blessed to share this wonderful life with my incredible wife Christine, a proud New Mexico native and talented realtor who knows every corner of this beautiful state.

We were married on the beach in Kailua, Oahu, surrounded by our kids, and every day since has been a true blessing. Together, we have seven wonderful children (from their 30s down to early teens) and four adorable grandchildren we cherish deeply. Our family is spread from Northern Michigan to Phoenix, AZ, but we stay connected through sporting events, busy schedules, and lots of love and laughter. We’re so proud of every one of our kids and the lives they’re building. Our youngest has Down Syndrome; she is an extraordinary blessing, and we’re passionate advocates in that amazing community.

Our Faith & Community

We’re truly blessed to be part of the Sagebrush Church family here in New Mexico. Pastor Todd is truly special; he brings so much heart and wisdom every week.

How We Play, Laugh, Build, Cook & Explore
When we’re not cheering at games or juggling family life, we love the outdoors in beautiful New Mexico. We hike and bike the trails, and we “glamp” our way around the state in our fifth wheel (comfort wins every time!). We also enjoy the open road and get out when we can on our Indian motorcycle. Our 7-year-old Dutch Shepherd, Olive, is always by our side — patient, kind, and the ultimate protector. Thanks to my farm-boy roots, I still love rolling up my sleeves for carpentry, welding, and just about any DIY project that needs doing around the house or on the road.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1989, I enjoyed a successful career as a professional chef and restaurateur. My path took me through some of the finest establishments in North America — from midtown Manhattan to Palm Beach, Miami, Toronto, and Dallas. While cooking professionally, I had the honor of preparing meals for three U.S. presidents and countless celebrities. But I’ve always believed that to be truly great, you have to not only be able to create an amazing state dinner, but also make the best burrito around. That hands-on kitchen experience left me with a lifelong love of great food and the joy of sharing meals with family and friends. Christine and I still cook together whenever we can, and it makes every gathering better.

The last chapter in my culinary career was owning a restaurant development company with six restaurants. When I sold them, it felt like the world stopped — I wasn’t sure what was next. I just knew I was ready for a new challenge. At a church men’s retreat, a gentleman who worked at Merrill Lynch approached me and said he knew exactly what I should do. I thought he was crazy! But after a lot of thought, research, and prayer, I took the leap into financial services. Boy, was he right. It just made sense to me, and I adapted quickly.

Today, almost two decades later, I have an extraordinary practice built with the most amazing clients that I care deeply about, and I’m grateful to be one of the top advisors at my firm with many national recognitions. For more information, visit https://us.rbcwealthmanagement.com/thelacrossteam/

I’m a die-hard sports fan, loyal to all the Michigan teams — Go Blue! — and we’re fortunate to hold season tickets to the Detroit Lions. (Yes, just once before I die, please). We squeeze in some golf and pickleball too (more laughs than competition), and we both enjoy stand-up comedy and live music. Nothing beats a great night out laughing until our sides hurt or singing along at a concert — we catch as many shows as time and distance allow.

Our Passion for Travel & Food

Christine and I are passionate travelers. Whether we’re exploring more of the Americas or heading to Europe when we can, we chase unforgettable experiences — and especially great food. We’ll gladly travel for an amazing meal (and I’m always happy to roll up my sleeves and cook one too!).

Life with our big blended family keeps us busy, grounded, and grateful every single day. Thanks for stopping by — this site is just a little window into what matters most to us: faith, family, hands-on living, laughter, adventure, good food, Michigan sports pride, and making memories together in the beautiful Land of Enchantment.

If you ever want to talk about how my experience might help you or your family, feel free to reach out. Otherwise, this page is all about the personal side of our journey. And if you’re ever in the neighborhood, stop by — Christine and I are known for having one of the best dinner tables around, and we’d love to have you join us for a great meal great conversation and some laughs.
